(More customer reviews)This is a very good speaker that gives you all want. The only downside is the price is bit high. I was able to get a discontinued pair for about $1500 total with tax. I've wanted these speakers for about two years but couldn't afford them.
Of course horn instruments are exceptionally lifelike with these horn loaded speakers. They give you good bottom end but I would say you still need a subwoofer with them. All instruments and voice are life like and these are a fine addition to my 11.3 system. For those who don't know that means I've got fifteen speaker units in my home theater and I say this to let you know that the RF-83 has a dominant place among them. Klipsch has only a fair standing among audiophiles yet I think the RF-83s will compete with anything under five thousand dollars. You can take that with a grain of salt since I'm such a Klipsch lover. I know I said the price was a bit high and that's because I couldn't afford them a list price. However, I wouldn't buy anything else because I think you get a good value.
The grills have a great magnetic fastening system and the speaker wire terminals are standard for the industry and work well. The fit and finish overall is good and I can think of nothing negative to say about them. They look very impressive with the grills off because the speakers have a copper like finish and they really look sharp.
You'll find if you buy them there is a large group of devoted followers on the Klipsch forums which can be accessed by anyone by going to the Klipsch website and entering through the "backstage pass" portal and then going to "forums". There you can find anything you want to know about any Klipsch products. Anyone can become a member and post questions or information. Few speakers have anything comparable and part of that is due to the large loyal following. The closest thing I've seen is the Bang & Olufsen site but they are not primarily a speaker company.
