(More customer reviews)I have owned a Klipsch LF-10 sub, Velodyne HGS-12 sub, Paradigm PW-2200 sub. and a Velodyne DD-15 subwoofer. I purchased this subwoofer because of my experience with Velodyne subwoofers. This sub. was a terrific addition to my sons Klipsch HT-500 / Yamaha Reciever combo. purchased for my sons room. The Velodyne easily tripled the bass output and quality over the base subwoofer that Klipsch sells with the HT-500 set.
I'm amazed at how clean, powerful and HUGE the presence of sound is now that we added the Velodyne Impact 12" to the mix. Just a couple of days ago, I ordered the Velodyne DEQ-12R to add to the set-up. My sons room already impacts the entire house with authority, I can't wait to hear and feel the system once the other Velodyne sub gets here. The Klipsch, Yamaha and Velodyne set-up is nothing short of astonishing. You would truely have to see those tiny satelites while listening to the sound coming from them and the velodyne.
If you want bass with a solid impact and with very clean sound but don't have alot to spend on a subwoofer, buy this sub. It really is the very best subwoofer I have heard and felt compared to subs costing twice as much. I do think that the sub could use a better low bass extension for movies but it is tuned for high output with a low bass extension of 29 hz. Overall it is the very best bang for the buck with solid clean bass that lives up to it's name, Impact!
