Cons: Thin cable, feel a little fragile comparing to more expensive models, plain design, cheap looking plastic case
It's on sale for $33 plus mail in rebate of ten dollars, I couldn't pass up this deal. I already own a black one and love it. I also bought Monster Turbine and Klipsch Image S4 to do a comparison. CX300 II is definitely my choice. The Turbine looks really, really nice and its packaging seems like a pair of high end earbuds. The Turbine, surprisingly, has lower sound output. I had to dial up volume four clicks on iPod nano before it matches with the CX300II. The bass on CX300II is definitely more powerful than both S4 and Turbine. I found S4 sounds best with Jazz, but not with House/Electro music. It's also uncomfortable, easily fell off, and overrated. Turbine has crisper sound than both S4 and CX300II and is more balanced overall. Its acoustic is definitely more pleasant but lacks bass. Its cable is thick, similarly to S4, feels sturdy, a little heavier than others, and expensive. But because of the lack of sufficient sound output, bass, and its price, I eliminated Monster Turbine. Klipsch S4 and CX300II? No comparison there. I'm not sure what's all the hype about Klipsch S4. It doesn't match up with CX300II. A little extra gravy is the CX300II's asymmetrical cable. I hate having wiring dangling around my chin, cheek, and chest. CX300II puts all the cable to one side and solves that trouble for me.
P.S. Two of my friends tried three of these side by side and they both picked CX300II.
