(More customer reviews)Long story short: I've had multiple outdoor speaker in my yard over the years, many quite expensive, including some name brands you've heard piping music at popular theme parks. None of them sounded as good as these did straight out of the box, and ultimately none proved very reliable, eventually succumbing to the elements one way or another despite being "outdoor" speakers.
This set of rock speakers, for $60, not only sound great, but survived the 3 feet of briny salt water flood during Hurricane Ike last fall. The landscaping, mulch, and fence around the speakers was all destroyed, and the speakers themselves were flipped awry. But when we got power back and I flipped on the outdoor stereo, they both worked and sounded as good as the day I got them.
Who knows how long they'll last in the end, but for $60 a pair I won't mind replacing them when needed...much more appealing than the several hundred I had spent on other outdoor speakers than never sounded as good and never survived normal weather, let alone a hurricane and flood.
